Project Overview:

EPPH have recently carried out a plantroom upgrade at a probation hostel improving, reliability, energy efficiency, and long-term performance. The project has been carefully managed to ensure residents experience no disruption to their hot or cold water supply.

Key Deliverables:

  • New Keston 55 boiler cascade system with plate heat exchanger
  • Upgraded 4” gas solenoid and gas pipework
  • Replaced hot water system with 2 Boss cylinders and 4 backup immersion heaters
  • New Grundfos Magna1 pumps
  • Complete distribution pipework replacement
  • Installed boosted cold water tank and isolated loft tank
  • New BMS control panel
  • Electrical main upgrade to support new equipment
  • Raised concrete floor for better drainage
  • Temporary boiler used to maintain full water services during works

Summary:

This complex upgrade involved replacing major systems including boilers, pumps, pipework, and controls. A temporary external boiler kept services running throughout the works. The project has been delivered with strong coordination and minimal impact on residents.
